iPhone 6S Review

As most of you know by now, Apple relaunched their highly coveted and revamped flagship device the iPhone 6S in the fall of 2015. After using the device for over 3 month we’re giving you our traditional 3 month post acquisition product review! Although the phone still looks very similar to the iPhone 6 that launched in the fall of 2014, its received noticeable feature upgrades.

What Changed:

Colour: This generation marks the release of a the ‘rose gold’ colour scheme for Apple. The colour is available in both the iPhone 6S & iPhone 6S Plus. (Gold, Silver & Space Grey still available for purchase.)

Camera: The camera improved exponentially this year. Whereas the camera on the predecessor where manufactured with a 1.2MP front facing camera and 8 MP rear camera, this new generation now features a 5MP front facing camera and a 12MP rear camera. (Additional camera features are available only the 6S Plus.)

Memory & Operational Speeds: The phones operating memory increased from 1GB to 2GB. The device has operating speed has improved thanks to the Apply A9 system processor and the 1.85Ghz dual-core chip.

Features: New this year is the 3D touch feature, this interactive addition helps monitor the pressure placed on the screen to provide the user more enhanced options.

What Hasn’t Changed:

Size: This generation iPhone didn’t see any changes in terms of size compared to its predecessor. The iPhone 6S has a 4.7 inch screen, while the iPhone 6S Plus measures a 5.5 inch screen.

Storage Capacity: This generation saw no changes in the storage capacity as the phone is still available in 16GB, 64GB, 128GB.

What We Loved:

We at CONstore were VERY excited when it was announced they would be releasing the ‘rose gold’ colour. This is aesthetically our favourite thing about the iPhone 6S. We also enjoyed the increased megapixels for the rear & front facing camera. We found the camera on the previous generations to be excellent but the improvement is definitely noticeable and will provide you were the highest quality pictures imaginable.

What We Didn’t Like:

We were hoping that Apple would’ve discontinued the 16GB storage capacity and would instead bring back the 32GB storage capacity. Most manufactures have recently started to over the flagship devices with the 32GB as the base storage capacity. The jump from 16GB to 64GB to 128GB still seems a little excessive to us.

Final Word:

9/10

Apple knows what their customers want and as a result they always release a phenomenal product. All things aside we love it and know you will too! Don't forget to check out our phone cases that pair perfectly with your device!
